Welcome to the Kern Branch of MTAC!

We are an organization made up of piano, violin, voice, flute, and harp teachers in the Bakersfield and surrounding area. All of our teacher-members are highly trained musicians, holding either degrees in their field or the equivalent qualifications. Students of MTAC teachers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of recitals and adjudicated events throughout the year.

Our Mission:

1) To promote the stability of the music teaching profession and maintain the high professional standards of our members.

2) To maintain the qualifications for membership in the organization, establishing the active member as a qualified, accredited music teacher.

3) To promote the development of musical potential and ability in students.

There are nearly 5000 teacher-members in California.
2009 Convention Highlights
This year's state convention was held in Santa Clara, July 3-6. Teachers attended workshops, master classes, recitals, and shopped in the exhibit hall for discounts on music! Several local students participated in CM, Composer's Today, and Improvisation recitals.
